GWH MiG-29 Fulcrum - Work begins!

 GWH MiG-29 - Work begins!

After a couple of days of construction, work has begun on the painting of Great Wall Hobby's amazing MiG-29 Fulcrum. These shots give a fair idea of how the kit looks built from the box. Just look at the astonishing amount of the detail in the cockpit and that front undercarriage leg! The real trick is to try and drag out as much of the detail as you can - weathering helping to pop it, if carefully applied...

Cold War Aircraft Modeller - Sold Out!

The first issue of my magazine has now sold out. Thank you to all those who have bought a copy of my magazine - it's very much appreciated! I'm not planning on reprinting this edition as I want to concentrate on No.2. I may though consider offering it as a digital download at some point in the future - I'll have to wait to see if there is any demand!

Here's to issue 2!

Great Wall Hobby MiG-29 makes a real impression!

It's been a busy time over the Christmas period and so I was unable to take a close look at this new kit from GWH, but now that I have, I have to say that I'm VERY impressed. This has to one of the best 1/48 aircraft kits that I've ever seen. The detail is astonishing, the breakdown of the parts sensible and the sheer number of features included in the box, as comprehensive as I have ever seen. It really is something else; from the one-piece missiles (I kid you not, they are moulded all-in-one!) to the beautifully detailed engines, this kit oozes class. Yes, it is expensive, but believe me, the pleasure that you will have building and displaying it will be more than worth it.

Having been so impressed this morning, I have decided that this will be the next model that I will build for Issue Two of CWAM.

I can't wait to get started!!!

Revell 1/32 Lynx HAS.3 to feature in Tamiya Magazine...

As part of my responsibilities to ADH, I've just finished building a test-shot of Revell's next 1/32 Lynx, the HAS.3. This is a stripped down version of their complex Mk.88 and as such, is custom-built to appeal to the UK market. Though the full review will explain all, this is a curate's egg of a kit; some parts are excellent, whereas others leave something to desire. That said, with work, the kit builds into a very fine model that will look excellent as the centrepeice of any collection. It should be available at the start of February, about the same time that the review in Tamiya Magazine International hits the shelves.

Daniel Zamarbide to return for issue Two!!!

I am delighted to see that dani has offered another of his stunning models for the next issue of CWAM, which should be available at the end of February, beginning of March. As you can see, he has worked his magic on Trumpeter's 1/32 MiG-21 F13, turning it into an incredible replica of this icon aircraft.

Dani's stunning MiG-21. Just look at that finish!!!

Watch out for a full feature in the next issue!!!
